I have been teaching History for over a decade, and nothing brings me more joy than the vibrant curiosity my students display about the world around them. A transformative school trip to East Arnhem Land to learn alongside the Yolngu people fundamentally shifted my approach to teaching. Their stories and the generosity with which they shared their wisdom have reshaped my understanding of self, education, and our Australian story. Having returned many times, each visit deepens my appreciation and knowledge of this extraordinary place and underscores the importance of Truth Telling in our schools. It is a privilege to weave their stories and other First Nations perspectives into the Good Science NSW Stages 4 & 5, 2e textbooks.
