Good Science has been crafted to reflect the new 7–10 Science syllabus for New South Wales with an emphasis on helping students to forge deep understandings, to create connections and to become scientifically literate citizens. It seeks to equip students with the essential knowledge and skills to observe, question, investigate, and analyse, and to tackle familiar and novel problems. It explores the deeply human and cultural dimensions of science and supports students to engage with science-related issues. Students are empowered to develop new capabilities, while teachers can measure progress and set tasks appropriate for each student.

Working scientifically processes, literacy and numeracy are comprehensively supported in the Science How-to section, which provides models and exemplars for students to refer to. Processes, literacy and numeracy are explicitly modelled and cross-referenced, providing students with a ready-reference toolkit.

Good Science NSW 2e teacher testimonials:

“I am really happy with the resources for Good Science 5. I have been able to use the programs without any significant modifications. It also involves some explicit teaching strategies which is helpful for us as this is a focus for our school at the moment. I find that the worksheets are pitched really well for my students. The program involves a range of activities that we can pick and choose from. I will be using the MC quizzes regularly once I have my class all signed up- which should be very soon. The Good Science books and materials have helped our school to make a very smooth transition to teaching the new syllabus.” – Susan Edwards, Head Teacher Science, Nowra Christian School.

"The books look fab! –They're really wonderful books!” – Cheryl Bawhey, Laboratory Technician, Penrith Christian School.

"We used the GS Program as a guide, which saved a lot of time as not only are the suggested activities engaging, but also aligned to the text." – Elizabeth Cranfield, Head of Science, Loreto Normanhurst.

"The resources are wonderful, they save us time, by giving teachers resources that can allow them to develop quality learning experiences." – Scott Parrey, Maitland High School.

"We have already started planning with and unpacking the new syllabus programs, they are fantastic!" –Teacher: Thomas Hassall Anglican College.

"The Good Science books have been a Godsend, as the programs, tests, worksheets, clickview etc are brilliant and have saved us a lot of time." –Jenny Weber, Sapphire Coast Anglican School.
